APPLICATIONS OPEN ON OCTOBER 25th, 2025

Applying to the Trans Balkan Race isn’t just about filling in a form — it’s the first step of your journey. We use the application process for two reasons: to “meet” our riders before the start, and to make sure everyone truly understands what they’re signing up for. Think of it as your chance to tell us who you are, why you ride, and why you want to take on the Balkans.

This year, we’ve made a few small but important updates, so here’s how it works.

Applications stay open for 15 days and are reviewed as they come in — don’t leave it until the last minute. Fill out your details, select your options (like tracker rental or luggage transfer), and answer a few quick “get-to-know-you” questions about your background and motivation. Riders entering as a pair must each submit an application.

To confirm your entry, you’ll need to complete payment of the entry fee and any selected options. Only then will your application be reviewed. If, for any reason, your application isn’t approved, we’ll be in touch and your payment will be fully refunded.

Application results: after you’ve filled out the form and payed the entry fee, we’ll get back to you as soon as possible to let you know if you’ve been granted a spot in the race. We’ll start accepting applications from day one, so the spots will be filled while the applications are live.
If your application is rejected, we’ll refund the entry fee.

100 places are available. We’ll give priority by order of application. 

Riders can apply as SOLO or PAIR. Only one application per rider is allowed.

Entry Fee and Tracking

The entry fee is 350 €

+ 70€ of tracker rental (tracker provided by the TBR) 

+ 25€ (with your own Garmin inReach or SPOT)

We’ll require a refundable deposit of 200€ against the tracking device loss or damage the week before the start (via PayPal).

May 28th, 2026, from 18:00 to 19:00 CEST: luggage hand-in for transfer

May 28th, 2026, 20:00 CEST: briefing

May 29th, 2026, at 9:00 CEST: start

June 7th, 2026, at 18:00 CEST: TBR2024 Beach Party

June 7th, 2026, at 23:59 CEST: official finish

Luggage Transfer

Only during the application process, you can book the transfer of 1 item (luggage or bike box/bag) to the finish line. As an alternative, you book a cardboard box provided by the TBR organization to find at the finish line in Risan. 

Luggage transfer: 60€ 

Cardboard box: 30€

Refund Policy

The Trans Balkan Race commits to refunding 80% of the entry fee if a rider withdraws their application before March 1st, 2026.

After March 1st, 2026, the entry fee is non-refundable.

Mandatory Documentation

– Copy of personal ID or Passport

– Copy of personal insurance (including search&rescue operations, medical expenses, and repatriation)

– Health certificate (template provided by the organization upon registration)

–  Signed liability waiver (template provided by the organization upon registra)
